The President, Mohammad Hasan, plays a pivotal role in leading association and acts as the head of the executive committee since June 2024. In this capacity, he is responsible for setting the strategic direction, overseeing operations, and ensuring that the association meets its goals and objectives. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President of Finance on the previous committee, he gained valuable experience in managing financial resources and understanding the needs of the organization. His leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation, driving the association toward success in its initiatives.

The Vice President (Administration) at UM-EGSA serves a vital role as the Secretary of the student government, ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the organization. This position involves maintaining accurate records of meetings, managing correspondence, and overseeing administrative duties to support the student body. The VP of Administration also collaborates with other executive members to plan events, coordinate activities, and facilitate communication between students and the administration. By fostering a well-organized environment, the VP plays a crucial role in enhancing student engagement and advocating for their needs

Vice President of Student Affairs & Events plays a crucial role in enhancing the student experience by overseeing various and initiatives. This position involves coordinating events that foster community engagement, support student well-being, and a vibrant campus culture. The VP collaborates with students, faculty, and administration to ensure that events meet the diverse needs and of the student body. Additionally, this role includes advocating for student concerns and working to create an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.

The Vice President (Finance), Adefikunola Adetoro, plays a crucial role in the student government as the treasurer. In this position, she is responsible for managing the financial resources of the organization, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently transparently. Adefikunola oversees budgeting processes, tracks expenditures, and prepares financial reports to keep the student body informed. Her expertise in Development Economics allows her to make informed decisions that promote fiscal and support the initiatives that benefit the entire student community.

The Councilor Femi, representing the UM-EGSA at the central student government meetings (UMGSA), plays a vital role in advocating for the needs and interests of the student body. individual serves as a liaison, ensuring that the concerns and suggestions of UM-EGSA members are communicated effectively within the larger governance structure. Additionally, the Councilor collaborates with fellow students and organizations to plan and organize academic events, fostering a vibrant learning environment. By working together with other student leaders, they help create opportunities for engagement, knowledge sharing, and professional development within the community

About UM-EGSA:

UM-EGSA is an authorized platform for the graduate students of the Department of Economics at the University of Manitoba. Our organization is steered by a dedicated team of elected representatives, ensuring a democratic governance structure that fosters accountability, transparency, and active participation from our members.

We are integrated into the central graduate student body as counselors, which enables us to effectively represent and advocate for the interests of our diverse membership. Our robust framework and clear mandate not only secure our role within the larger graduate community but also allow us to collaborate closely with key stakeholders.

Our initiatives are well-supported through essential funding resources provided by UMGSA, the Department of Economics, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies. This financial backing empowers us to implement a wide range of programs and activities designed to enhance the academic and professional experiences of our members.

In addition to financial resources, we are equipped with essential administrative tools, including our official email system, a dedicated website (www.um-egsa.ca), and comprehensive banking facilities. Our operational efficiency is further enhanced by our conveniently located office space (601, FA), which serves as a central hub for our activities and ensures effective communication and management across all levels of our organization.
